Bega Peanut Butter
Get your chills & thrills this Halloween with our decadent Peanut Butter Toffee Apples. They are wickedly delicious!
Pull off stalks from the apples and insert the twigs (or thick skewer sticks).
Combine the sugar and water in a small saucepan and stir over a medium heat until the sugar has dissolved (using a wet pastry brush to brush any sugar down from the sides of the pan throughout cooking).
Bring to the boil and boil steadily for 5 minutes without stirring until the toffee turns a pale golden colour.
Remove from the heat, add the peanut butter and quickly swirl in the pan until combined… Stir a little if necessary.
Quickly dip the apples into the toffee then into the peanuts, place onto a lined tray to set. (Note: Once the peanut butter is added to the toffee you must work quickly to dip the apples - two pairs of hands would be beneficial. The toffee continues to cook removed from the heat and can become over cooked the longer it stands, resulting in a burnt flavour.)
